Scorpio
Scorpio can form an incredibly powerful emotional bond with Cancer. Both are water signs, so their connection often reaches beneath surface-level attraction. Cancer can understand emotions Scorpio rarely explains, while Scorpio can make Cancer feel seen in ways that are difficult to recreate with someone else.
When that relationship ends, Scorpio may respond by becoming distant. They can cut communication, disappear from Cancer’s life, and appear completely unaffected. That silence, however, does not necessarily mean their feelings disappeared with it.
Scorpio remembers emotional intensity. If Cancer once earned their trust and saw the vulnerable person behind their guarded exterior, forgetting that connection can become extremely difficult. Scorpio does not allow many people into that private space, and someone who reached it can remain emotionally significant for years.
The complicated part is that Scorpio can still love someone while also feeling hurt, disappointed, or angry with them. They may remember exactly what went wrong while simultaneously missing everything that felt right. This internal conflict can prevent them from reaching out even when Cancer crosses their mind frequently.
Jealousy may expose what Scorpio tries to hide. Hearing that Cancer is dating someone new could create a stronger reaction than they expected. Suddenly, the possibility of permanently losing access to Cancer can make buried emotions impossible to dismiss.
If Scorpio eventually returns, their approach may be subtle. A short message or unexpected question could actually be an attempt to discover whether Cancer still feels something too. Scorpio rarely risks emotional vulnerability without testing the situation first.
Cancer should therefore be careful about interpreting Scorpio’s silence as complete indifference. Sometimes the deepest feelings are exactly the ones Scorpio protects most fiercely.
