Forgiveness Without Accountability
Cancer may forgive more than others realize because their emotional attachments are difficult to release. They remember the good moments and hope those memories still represent the person standing in front of them. Unfortunately, the wrong people may use Cancer’s forgiving nature to avoid taking full responsibility. An apology becomes meaningless when it only appears after Cancer begins creating distance.
True forgiveness does not require Cancer to pretend that the damage never happened. Someone who genuinely feels sorry will respect boundaries and make different choices moving forward. Cancer should look for changed behavior instead of another emotional promise. Without accountability, forgiveness can become an invitation for the same betrayal to happen again.
